Behind every decision sits one discipline.
We call it LSAR — Listen, Structure, Analyse, Resolve. It is how we reason before we draw, and how we hold ourselves to account for what we decide.
Listen
Understand the real requirement — the part, its function, how it will actually be produced — not just the brief. We start from evidence, not opinion.
Structure
Turn that into one clear direction. The problem and its constraints are framed before any modelling begins.
Analyse
Test every assumption against evidence — DFM, material, geometry, tolerance. Weak options are eliminated, not carried forward.
Resolve
Commit to one decision — and record why, with the alternative that was rejected. Every line that follows can be traced to a reason we can defend.
How the thinking is checked.
LSAR is how we reason. On a live project that reasoning is tested at five review gates — every project passes all five before release.
Requirement Lock
Part data, material, shrinkage, cavity count, machine and mould base constraints confirmed in writing before modelling begins. Assumptions are raised as questions, not carried forward silently.
DFM Review
Draft, wall thickness, rib ratios, gate position, weld line location, ejection feasibility and shrinkage compensation — studied and reported before final geometry is committed.
Peer Review
Reviewed by a design lead who did not own the project. No design is released on a single pair of eyes, and findings are logged rather than discussed verbally.
Drawing Check
Datum scheme, GD&T, fits, tolerance stack, component callouts, steel grade, finish and BOM — against a fixed list. The test: can a toolroom build from it without a phone call.
Release
Files released under a controlled revision, with a change log recording what changed, why, and on whose approval.
Every decision is recorded —
what we chose, and why.
That means any decision can be reviewed, questioned and defended — by us, or by you. Nothing rests on memory, or on one person being in the room. If a line exists, there is a reason for it — and we can show you the reason.
